‘That’s how I was brought up’

I came up with this type of response if someone at work will be asking me about stuff that I don’t want to discuss. ‘I don’t discuss my relationship status/financial situation/food choices with people that I don’t know well. That’s how I was brought up.’ That should hopefully give people a hint that 1. They are not my friends 2. We are different so they shouldn’t compare my life to theirs.

I really hope that will do the trick. Btw, that expression came to me while I was trying visualisation. If it works I can then say that doing visualisation helps me.

Do you know that visualisation is being used as part of athletes training? No one knows how it works but apparently it does.
